Board of Management Meeting 11.02.2025
- The Board of Management wishes to convey its sincere sympathies to the Conway family on the passing of Eva Conway, who was much-loved and appreciated former School Secretary of Scoil Mhuire.
- The Board also wishes to convey its sincere sympathies to staff members Fiona Riordan and Niamh Tangney on the passing of their beloved mother, Olive Diggin.
- The school has ordered a drag brush for our astro pitch, which needs to be brushed once per week to maintain its condition.
- The Board completed its annual reviews of Child Safeguarding Statement & Risk Assessments and its Anti-Bullying Policy.
- The Scoil Mhuire Open Day was a great success – in particular many compliments were received regarding the work, positivity and capabilities of our wonderful sixth class pupils.
- The Lunch Box is the company that has been appointed to provide hot meals at Scoil Mhuire. They are sending a crane next week to install their modular kitchen. Some local staff have been appointed to prepare and distribute the meals each day.
- Our Annual Book Fair will be held in March.
- A WOW (Walk on Wednesday) will be held on Wednesday19th February.
- The Board wishes to thank our Parents’ Association, who are organising a Bingo Night fundraiser which will take place on Wednesday, 26th February.
- The Board wishes also to thank our excellent school staff who work tirelessly for our pupils and wishes to acknowledge in particular the work that has gone into events such as the football and soccer training and in-school football and soccer leagues, 2 nights of Christmas concerts, Christmas Carols concert and beautiful Memory Tree, chess tournament, grúpa cheoil, debating teams, the prize-winning heritage history hunters project, and our green schools committee.
Board of Management Meeting 12.11.2024
- The BOM has paid for Pupil Personal Insurance for all pupils at Scoil Mhuire. This applies 24/7 from September 2024 to end August 2025.
- Safe Routes to School have submitted plans to Kerry County Council to improve safety and access to Scoil Mhuire. These plans will be presented to school staff and BOM in the coming weeks.
- Parent-Teacher meetings will take place during the week of 18th Novemeber.
- Hot Meals provision is out to tender. It is hoped that provision will commence at the school after the Christmas holidays.
- The School Milk Scheme is operating for children who wish to avail of this.
- The BOM wishes to convey its grateful thanks and congratulations to the Committee who organised our hugely successful Golf Classic and to all those who supported it. €30,523 was raised for our new pitch and jogging track! The BOM also wishes to thank Dooks Golf Links for their great support and help and for the use of their wonderful facilities.
- Hoodies for our 6th class pupils have been organised and ordered by our Parents' Association. Many thanks to all involved.
